Suspected sockpuppets

I am assuming this is merely a good-faith error by a new user, but User:AKGould and user:Akgould1 appear to be the same person. Both accounts are making (good-faith, not vandalism or POV-pushing) edits to James C. Duff ([1]). I would advise the user, but don't know what steps he should take to resolve this, so I bring it up here. TJRC (talk) 18:26, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The best place to start is a note on their talk pages pointing them to our account policy and ask them if they are operating multiple accounts. Like you said, I'm inclined to think this is an honest mistake. TNXMan 18:36, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

And if the answer is yes, what action should they take? Request for one of the accounts to be deleted? Or just drop using it? Or is there some sort of merger operation possible? TJRC (talk) 19:10, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The best idea is to ask them to limit themselves to one account. If they refuse, we can take further action then. TNXMan 19:49, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
And then the unused account: just leave it unused, have deleted, or something else? TJRC (talk) 20:36, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
They can just leave it unused. TNXMan 20:56, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
